AC/DC reschedule a couple ‘Black Ice’ postponements

After canceling a handful of “Black Ice” dates in September due to illness, AC/DC is back in action and has rescheduled two of the postponed shows for next spring.
Shows in Las Vegas and Des Moines, IA–both originally scheduled for October–will now take place April 9 and April 17, respectively. Details are below.
All previously purchased tickets for the canceled shows will be honored at the rescheduled dates.
Four more postponed concerts (Phoenix, AZ; Louisville, KY; Kansas City, MO; and Milwaukee, WI) will be rescheduled, though the band has not yet issued make-up dates.
The rock legends returned to the stage in mid-October following the six postponements, which occurred due to an undisclosed medical procedure involving lead vocalist Brian Johnson.
“My insides were giving me lots of trouble, ulcers and such,” Johnson stated in a message posted at the band’s website in September. “The doctors looked me over … In the end they gave me a clean bill of health, but insisted I take a bit of time to recuperate and rest up.”
“Black Ice,” AC/DC’s first new studio set in nearly a decade, surfaced last October. The album, which was sold exclusively via Walmart, Sam’s Club and the band’s website, debuted at No. 1 in 29 countries, including the US.
AC/DC began the “Black Ice World Tour”–the group’s first live shows in five years–last October.
According to the group’s website, the Black Ice tour will hit Latin America following the forthcoming US dates, and then visit Australia and New Zealand “by early 2010.”

Willie Nelson [ tickets ], who’s coming to the end of yet another busy year on the road, has extended his in-progress tour behind “American Classic” through January.
The Red-Headed Stranger continues the trek with a post-Thanksgiving performance tonight in Norman, OK. Since last check, 10 shows have been tacked on to the end of his schedule, pushing the roadwork through a Jan. 30 concert in Asheville, NC. Details are shown below.
Nelson unveiled “American Classic,” his first solo effort for the Blue Note label, in August. The 12-track set, which peaked at No. 14 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, includes his backing band–Mickey Raphael (harmonica), Joe Sample (piano), Christian McBride (bass) and Lewis Nash (drums)–and features guest vocalists Diana Krall (“If I Had You”) and Norah Jones (“Baby It’s Cold Outside”).
“American Classic” marks the singer’s first collection of American standards since his 1978 release, “Stardust.” That record was ranked No. 257 on Rolling Stone’s 2003 list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
Earlier this summer, Nelson embarked on a 22-date “Baseball Tour” alongside John Mellencamp and Bob Dylan. In March, the iconic singer/songwriter unveiled “Naked Willie,” a 17-track set of recordings from the late 1960s that were stripped down to their original studio versions.

The latest single from Dark Horse, “Never Gonna Be Alone,” is already top 15 at Hot A/C and heating up quickly at Top 40.
