US superstar Kelly Clarkson has announced a five date arena UK tour for October and will be joined by one of the biggest pop bands of 2012 Cover Drive.

Kelly Clarkson is also set to release ‘Dark Side’ on JUNE 3RD which is the third single to be taken from her top 5 album ‘Stronger’ out now.

Kelly has already achieved huge success with the release of her fifth studio album. She performed an incredible secret gig at Borderline in London, turned on the infamous Regent Street Christmas Lights, and single ‘What Doesn’t Kill You’ is still riding high in the airplay charts.

Since bursting onto the music scene 10 years ago, Kelly Clarkson has released five studio albums (Thankful, Breakaway, My December, All I Ever Wanted), sold over 20 million albums worldwide, had seven top ten singles in the UK and has sold over 3.5 million units in the UK alone.

She is the recipient of 2 Grammy Awards, 2 American Music Awards, 2 MTV Awards and 11 Billboard Awards. Clarkson’s last effort, 2009′s All I Ever Wanted debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 and produced the smash singles ‘ ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’ (which charted at number one and went platinum in the UK) and ‘Already Gone.’

Joining Kelly on the arena tour will be Barbadian four piece band Cover Drive. Cover Drive have had three top 10 singles in the UK so far including the Caribbean-infused #1 single ‘Twilight and they have recently released their debut album ‘Bajan Style’. Amassing a huge following in their native Barbados, the UK and beyond, Cover Drive’s You Tube views are over 14million and the band have previously supported Rihanna and Dappy on tour.

The trek, which will feature Phillip Phillips, Elise Testone, DeAndre Brackensick, Hollie Cavanagh, Colton Dixon, Skylar Laine, Heejun Han, Jessica Sanchez, Joshua Ledet, and Erika Van Pelt, kicks off in Detroit, MI on July 6 and wraps on September 11 in Milwaukee, WI.
The AMERICAN IDOL season finale will air on FOX May 23rd, but the fan-favorites will continue on with the 2012 live tour. Past tours have featured stars such as Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, David Cook, Kris Allen, Adam Lambert, Lee DeWyze, Scotty McCreery and so many more.

The famed prog-rockers reveal a 33 city North American tour beginning in New Hampshire Sept. 7.

Shunned by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and dissed by music critics who weren’t even gleams in their parents’ eyes when Rush’s self-titled debut album was released in 1974, the Canadian band has sold more than 40 million records during its multi-decade career.  Not too shabby for a group that never conformed to trends as it blazed its own path through the often fickle world of music.

Rush’s 20th album, Clockwork Angels, marks the  band’s first album of new material in five years as well as their first release via Anthem/Roadrunner Records.   The album lands in stores June 12.

The “Clockwork Angels” tour begins Sept. 7 in Manchester, N.H., at the Verizon Wireless Arena.  Stops include Chicago’s United Center Sept. 15; Auburn Hills, Mich., at the Palace Of Auburn Hills Sept. 18; Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center Oct. 12; Newark, N.J., at the Prudential Center Oct. 20; Brooklyn, N.Y., at Barclays Center Oct. 22; Boston’s TD Garden Oct. 24; Buffalo, N.Y., at First Niagara Center Oct. 26; Anaheim, Calif., at Honda Center Nov. 17 and Los Angeles at Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal CityWalk Nov. 19.

Cities also on the tour include Pittsburgh (Sept. 11); Toronto, Ontario, (Oct. 14); Alpharetta, Ga.,  (Nov. 1); Phoenix (Nov. 25); and San Antonio (Nov. 30).  Last stop on the tour is Houston’s Toyota Center Dec. 2.

The lineup for the 2012 edition of Lollapalooza has been announced, and this year the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Black Keys, Black Sabbath and Jack White will headline the festival.

This year’s festival will take place August 3-5 in Chicago’s Grant Park and will feature over 120 bands. Other notable artists in the diverse lineup include Sigur Ros, Florence and the Machine, At the Drive-In, the Afghan Whigs, the Shins, Bloc Party, Avicii and Childish Gambino.

Speaking to the Associated Press, festival founder and Jane’s Addiction lead signer Perry Farrell talked of how he put the lineup together.

“Every year it’s kind of a nail biter putting a lineup together,” he said. “There were moments when I looked at it and I was beside myself. I didn’t know what to do… You are trying to balance a lot of things. Balance economics there’s budget how much we can afford for talent. You’re trying to balance that with who’s available.”

But he seemed confident that festival goers will enjoy their time, adding that the “lineup is just going to be so exciting and it’s so diverse. I think it works well.”

Farell started Lollapalooza as a traveling road show back in 1991, took a hiatus in the late 1990s and early 2000s, and then has been held in Grant Park every year since 2005. Last year’s festival drew a sell-out crowd of 90,000 music fans a day, and 270,000 for the entire three day festival.

The first Lollapalooza Chile festival was held last year in Santiago, Chile. The event was held there again this year March 31 – April 1 and featured Foster the People, MGMT and the Foo Fighters.

A new edition of Lollapalooza was held this year in San Paulo, Brazil this past weekend. This version of the festival featured Skrillex, Bassnectar and Crystal Method.Tweet

It appears that boy band 98 Degrees may reunite for an upcoming tour after a ten year hiatus.

Rumor Fix reports that an unnamed source has revealed that the four-piece group vocal group will undertake a 15-city tour between July and August this summer. No additional details of the tour were revealed.

The gossip website also reports that the rumors began on Wednesday when the band’s website was updated for the first time in ten years. The update included a new design and logo, and the source says the updates were made because of the tour.

The band has been on an “extensive hiatus” since 2002, though they have come together occasionally since for special one-off shows. They sang on the 2004 television special “Nick & Jessica’s Family Christmas,” which featured band member Nick Lachey and his then wife Jessica Simpson. The group also sang together in 2005 to support member Justin Jeffre’s bid for mayor of Cincinnati.

The band went on hiatus to explore solo opportunities, and Lachey’s solo career has since had the highest profile of all the members, partly due to his marriage to Simpson and the MTV reality show “Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica,” which chronicled the pair’s first years of marriage. Lachey also released two solo albums since the hiatus was announced, SoulO in 2003 and What’s Left of Me in 2006.

In 2004, Singer Jeff Timmons also released a solo album, called Whisper That Way. Nick’s brother Drew Lachey has appeared on Broadway twice since the hiatus began, in Rent in “2005” and “Spamalot” in 2008.

98 Degrees released their debut, self-titled debut in 1997 and were part of the late 1990s boy band era that included N*SYNC and the Backstreet Boys. The group’s second album, 98 Degrees and Rising is their most successful to date and includes the singles “Because of You” and “The Hardest Thing.”Tweet

UK group Keane has announced they will undertake a short North American tour this June in support of their upcoming album.

The tour will kick off June 12 at the House of Blues in Boston and will run through June 30 when the band takes the stage at the Fox Theatre in Oakland, Calif. In between, the band will play N. Bethesda, Md.; New York; Philadelphia; Montreal; Toronto; Nashville; Chicago; Milwaukee; Denver; Salt Lake City and Los Angeles.

For most dates, the band will be supported by Mystery Jets, though that band will not play at the Nashville, Chicago or Milwaukee shows. It has not yet been announced if there will be a different opening band at these dates.

The tour is in support of the band’s upcoming fourth album, Strangeland, which is set to be released on May 8 in the United States. This album will mark the first full-length studio album the band has released since 2008.

Keane originally formed in the late 1990s, and received acclaim for their 2004 debut album, Hopes and Fears. Sales of that album were propelled by a slew of singles, most notably “Somewhere Only We Know.”

While that album didn’t crack the top 40 on the Billboard 200 albums charts, the group’s follow up debuted at number four. Under the Iron Sea, released in 2006, has since gone on to sell more than 3 million copies around the world.

While the band has only released one full-length since that time (2008’s Perfect Symmetry), they did release an EP called Night Train in 2010.

In other Keane news, the band recently announced that they would play a special acoustic performance for Record Store Day this year at London’s Rough Trade East record store. Record Store Day will be held on April 21 this year, and is an annual day to celebrate independent record stores.Tweet

Nebraska rockers 311 have announced that Slightly Stoopid will accompany them on this year’s annual “Unity Tour,” which will take place this summer.

The tour will kick off on July 4, though the city and venue for that date currently are listed as TBD. The first scheduled show will be two days later on July 6 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The bands will then stay on the road for most of the summer, and the last show will be held September 5 in Redmond, Wash.

Depending on the city, the two groups will be supported by either SOJA or the Aggrolites.

If you can’t wait until summer to get your 311 fix, you can catch them at the House of Blues in New Orleans, which they will play on both May 7 and May 8. After that, the band will takeover a Carnival cruise ship for the 311 Caribbean Cruise, which will find the band and a horde of 311 fans traveling from Miami to Half Moon Cay, Bahamas and back May 10-14. Joining 311 on the cruise will be 12 other artists including The Dirty Heads, Shwayze & Cisco and Ballyhoo!

The first “Unity Tour” was held in 2007 and has occurred every year since with the exception of 2008. New supporting acts are chosen for the tour every year.

311 released their most recent album, Unity Pulse, in July of last year. It is the band’s 10^th studio album and debuted at number 7 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

Slightly Stoopid was originally signed by the late Sublime frontman Bradley Nowell to his own Skunk Records, and released a debut album in 1996. Their most recent album, Slightly Not Stoned Enough to Eat Breakfast Yet Stoopid, was released on the group’s own Stoopid Records in 2008. The album contains seven tracks from a previously released EP of the same name, as well as a number of outtakes and rare songs.

The Live Nation promoted tour will go on sale beginning Friday, March 23rd at Ticketmaster.com and LiveNation.com. The KISS Army Fan Club  pre-sales begin Wednesday, March 21st at 10am. Motley Crue is also claiming fanclub presales beginning at 10am tomorrow, but I’m not sure http://motleysinclub.com/ is still active. Any presale except fanclub presales will have the code listed for getpresales subscribers on the morning of the presale. Fanclub codes can only be obtained by joining the kiss army fanclub.

“These guys are the baddest band in the f***ing world,” Motley Crue’s Vince Neil said on stage with both bands at the Roosevelt Hotel on Tuesday. “Our very first tour was with [KISS], 1982. To be able to do it now is amazing.”  ”Seeing them on stage, it was obvious back then that this was the next big thing,” KISS’ Paul Stanley added. “We talk about bang for buck, this will be the definition of bang for buck on this tour. If you want to see more bombs and artillery, you’ll have to check out the military.”

Whether or not KISS bassist Gene Simmons’ A&E reality show, “Gene Simmons Family Jewels,” will follow the explosive tour was unclear. “Probably. Maybe… not,” he said But he had a clear answer to for the pop stars now invading stadiums once filled largely by rock acts.  ”We’re sick and tired of girls getting up there with dancers and karaoke tapes in back of them,” Simmons said. “No fake bullshit. Leave that to the Rihanna, Smhianna and anyone who ends their name with an ‘A.’”

Backstage, Motley Crue’s Tommy Lee seconded Simmons’ strong opinions. ”No disrespect to Rihanna, she’s a great singer, but we’re in a slump for some shit that has some personality and appeal beyond a bunch of pop stuff that’s floating around out there,” he told Billboard.com. “I’m glad he said that actually because I don’t think i can bear watching another f***ing award show that is just a little bit better than ‘American Idol.’ It’s f***ing pathetic to watch people go out and f***ing karaoke with a bunch of lights and video. It’s all completely watered down.” ”More guitars? There can’t ever be enough,” Motley Crue’s Mick Mars told Billboard.com, asked if the touring world needed a shot of rock. “I’d have 15,000 guitar players on stage.”

Looking back, Lee had fond memories of the bands’ shared ’80s tour, remembering trying to catch the more established KISS members without their makeup backstage.

“I remember, I wanted to see what they really looked like,” he said. “They had bandanas, wrapped around, so we never really saw what they looked like, the whole tour. That was a big thing for me.”  ”I still wonder that,” KISS drummer Eric Singer added, laughing. Singer and Tommy Thayer, both more recent additions to KISS, look forward to touring with Motley Crue for the first time. ”I wasn’t there, I was in the crowd watching,” Thayer said of the previous tour three decades ago. ”Both bands are fans of each other,” Singer added. “Everyone in KISS is a fan of Motley, big time. I remember when ‘Dr. Feelgood’ came out, Paul used to play that record all the time.” During the press conference, the groups celebrated their own endurance through decades of rock, dubbing themselves, “Elvis on steroids.” ”You may say it doesn’t look like classic rock and roll in the sense of what Elvis did, but all we’ve ever been, both bands, is Elvis on steroids,” Stanley said. “Elvis through a Marshall amplifier. ”We never forget, we were once in the audience seeing bands who let us down. This will be The Tour, that’s what we’re calling it, The Tour. You will be deaf and blinded, you will leave there stumbling out,”

The U.S. itinerary starts on June 7 at the Tower Theatre in Philadelphia, PA, and concludes on the West Coast. CSN website members will have access to pre-sale tickets. More than four decades since CSN first harmonized in Laurel Canyon, and played their first-ever concert as a trio at the legendary Woodstock festival, its members continue a creative partnership that is one of the most influential and enduring in music. David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and Graham Nash have each been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame two times—once with Crosby, Stills & Nash, and a second time with The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, and The Hollies, respectively. They have also been inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame, with the honor recognizing both CSN as a group, and each member as individual solo artists.
CSN’s music first became a cornerstone of rock ‘n roll with the self-titled 1969 debut LP, one of Rolling Stone’s “500 Greatest Albums of All Time.” Ever since—through changing times, various configurations, and acclaimed solo careers—Crosby, Stills & Nash have continued to tour and record as “three together.”

Barenaked Ladies will be joining forces with Blues Traveler, Cracker and Big Head Todd and the Monsters for Last Summer on Earth, a package tour kicking off this July in Toledo, Ohio. The four bands will play more than 30 arenas and amphitheaters across North America through the middle of August. “I love playing outside in the summertime,” says Barenaked Ladies frontman Ed Robertson. “To travel and hang around with a bunch of bands, and get a chance to do some collaboration is part of the magic of a summer tour.” The tour’s ominous title is a nod to what could be a potentially dreadful economy for live music, and superstitions about the end of the world. “I’m a man of science, and therefore put zero stock in all of the disastrous predictions about the year 2012,” says Robertson. “But just in case, I think everybody should come out and see one last great summer concert tour! It can’t hurt, right? Here’s hoping the Mayans just got tired of chiseling!”

In a recent interview with AOL‘s Noisecreep, DEF LEPPARD guitarist Phil Collen stated about the band’s upcoming road activities. “We’re actually going to be back on tour around when the [film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical 'Rock Of Ages'] is out, and it would be a lot of fun to get some of the other bands featured in ‘Rock Of Ages’ out with us,” he said. “Nothing has been finalized yet, but apparently POISON will be joining us — at least according to [POISON singer] Bret Michaels, who has been telling everyone that they’ll be touring with us this year. [Laughs] We went out with POISON in 2009, and we all had so much fun. If it does end up happening like that, I would love for the third band to be someone like TWISTED SISTER, since they’re also in the new movie. I think that would make for a great lineup.”

“Rock Of Ages” is a love story told through the music of DEF LEPPARD, PAT BENATAR, BON JOVI, JOURNEY, POISON, TWISTED SISTER and other artists from the 1980s.

“Rock Of Ages” stars Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Paul Giamatti, Malin Akerman and many others. It scheduled to arrive in theaters on June 1.

In a 2009 interview, DEF LEPPARD frontman Joe Elliott defended his band’s decision to tour with POISON — a group that, just a year earlier, he trashed in the media. Speaking to Noisecreep, Elliott explained, “I didn’t say that [POISON's] music had no substance, I said that ours had more. That’s a totally different thing. Yes, it was taken out of proportion. Truth be known, it was a dumb question from a foreign journalist in a press conference where I could barely hear what was going on and I was getting really agitated with being in the room in the first place, so I couldn’t hear the questions. It was a dumb question from a dumb journalist, to a dumb singer about a dumb subject.”

He added, “My belief is that we’re better than them … but I would say that if they just said it about any band whether it be THE WHO or [THE ROLLING STONES] or THE BEATLES — not because I’m an arrogant idiot, but because when you’re in a band, you are absolutely 100 percent allowed to believe that you’re the best band in the world.

“So if that question had been asked of Bret Michaels, I would have expected him to have answered it in a very similar way. He’s entitled to think that they’re a better band than us, because he’s in the band, you know what I mean? So that certainly wasn’t … it’s not that I thought they had no substance, I just thought that we had more.”
