P.O.D. have just wrapped work on their upcoming full-length album to be released this summer via Razor & Tie. The new record will see the band reunited with long-time producer Howard Benson who also produced the band’s massive Satellite album alongside major hit albums for 3 Doors Down, Kelly Clarkson, Theory Of A Deadman, Daughtry, All American Rejects, and My Chemical Romance.

P.O.D. (Payable on Death) formed in 1992 has logged a remarkable array of achievements, including worldwide sales exceeding 10 million, a series of chart topping radio hits, and an unprecedented four #1 MTV videos. With a 15-year career under their belts, P.O.D. has released seven studio albums, received three Grammy Award nominations, contributed to numerous motion picture soundtracks, and toured the world over many times. With their third studio album, The Fundamental Elements of Southtown, they achieved their initial mainstream success – the album was certified Platinum by the RIAA in 2000. Their following studio album, Satellite, continued the band’s success with the hit singles, “Alive” and “Youth of the Nation,” pushing it to go triple platinum. Following reports that Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. as well as “The Voice” coach Cee Lo Green may make appearances comes news that LMFAO could be called off the bench also.

A year after his group, the on-hiatus Black Eyed Peas,played the big game,? will.i.am told English radio stationCapital FM that his party-rocking homies will be in the mix. “I’m going to the Super Bowl this year to see my group LMFAO perform with Madonna,” he said. “Check that out, Will.i.am Music Group is pretty freaking two for two! One year the Super Bowl, the next year another group part of the Super Bowl in collaboration with Madonna. That’s still happening.”

According to sources, Madonna asked Green to perform with her at the showdown in Indianapolis between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots, which is traditionally the most-watched TV event of the year. TheInsider.com reports that he’s been flying to New York to rehearse with the pop icon. The sources add that he will contribute his signature flair to some of her classic tunes.

The pairing would make sense given that the new season of “The Voice” premieres right after the Super Bowl next month. MTV News caught up with the Queen of Pop at her “W.E.” premiere earlier this week in New York, and the singer only had one tease about the Super Bowl gig. “I am not saying ‘Yes,’ and “I am not saying yes and I am not saying no,” she replied when asked whether Minaj and M.I.A. will join her onstage, adding, “Pom-poms. That’s all I can tell you.”

As if the pom-poms and all the alleged guests aren’t enough, the halftime show will be “imagined” by trippy Canadian circus troupe Cirque du Soleil and Madonna’s longtime choreographer and creative director Jamie King. According to reports, the set list could include Madonna’s new single, “Give Me All Your Luvin,” as well as such classics as “Ray of Light,” “Vogue” and “Music.”

In addition to her Super Bowl performance, Madonna’s fans are awaiting the release of her next studio album, M.D.N.A., out later this year.

Dave Matthews Band said they were going to take the year off from touring, but nobody said the band wouldn’t be playing live.

It looks like DMB will stage four “mini-festivals” billed as the Dave Matthews Band Caravan this year, as announced on the band’s Warehouse fan site.

A statement from the band obtained by Billboard.biz says, “2011 is our 20th anniversary as a band and we want to celebrate by playing music together.  While we are still taking the year off from touring, we have decided to plan four multi-day, multi-artist music events that will take place this summer.  We will be sending out save the date emails and announcing more information soon but we wanted to share the news with our fans first.”

As reported on Billboard.biz last month, Dave Matthews Band will stage four regional destination festivals this summer under the Dave Matth Field, former site of the Atlantic City (New Jersey) Municipal Airport, the band announced this morning.

While DMB fans have known such an announcement was coming, they may be surprised at the size and scope of these events, as the the event is a full-blown festival, at least in terms of talent. In addition to DMB, the Atlantic City lineup includes David Gray, Ray LaMontagne, the Flaming Lips, O.A.R., Damian Marley, Bassnectar, Dr. Dog, Amos Lee, Thievery Corporation, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Warren Haynes Band, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Guster, Lotus, Rebelution, Fitz and the Tantrums, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Lisa Hannigan, Punch Brothers, From Good Homes, Delta Spirit, Big Gigantic, Alberta Cross, Mariachi El Bronx, TR3, Vusi Mahlasela, the Budos Band and Bobby Long, and special performances by DMB members Carter Beauford and Stefan Lessard, plus a Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds acoustic set.  The festival weekend will also include a number of late-night shows at Atlantic City venues.

DMB is the top-grossing band in the world for the period 2000-2009 according to Billboard Boxscore, and grossed more than $62 million and drew more than a million fans last year, so taking a year off the road is no small matter. Dave Matthews vaguely alluded that DMB might jam together this year in an interview with Billboard last December. “Next year, although we’re not going to hop on the same train of buses and drive around North America, I have no doubt we’re going to get together, whether it’s in front of people or whether it’s in some room somewhere, and make music together, because this is my second family,” he said.

Here’s the official word on ticket presales for Jackson County residents and Kansas City Chiefs season-ticket holders for the Kenny Chesney concert at Arrowhead Stadium in July. For more information, visit the Chiefs web site.

Jackson County taxpayers: The presale will be offered from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the Arrowhead Stadium ticket office located between Founder’s Plaza and the Hy-Vee Gate on the northwest side of the stadium. No phone orders will be accepted.

Customers must have one form of identification which includes a photo of the person purchasing the tickets and a personal 2009 Jackson County property tax receipt. Spouses residing at the same address will be allowed to purchase tickets, even if the property tax receipt is in the other spouse’s name.

A random number distribution system will be used. It provides each customer an equal chance to be first in line without the need for camping out or spending long hours in line during bad weather. Numbers will be distributed one hour before tickets go on sale.Tweet
