This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see two of popular music’s most iconic singer-songwriters in an intimate setting. Anyone who calls themselves a music fan won’t want to miss this.”

Performance will include new material from ‘The Union,’ highly-anticipated album the two recorded together. It will be available October 19, 2010 in the U.S. on Decca Records. It is produced by Oscar and multiple-Grammy winning producer T Bone Burnett, who has recorded numerous albums by artists including Willie Nelson, Robert Plant with Alison Krause, and bluegrass fixture Ralph Stanley. Recorded live in the studio with John and Russell on dueling pianos, the album features musical genres including R&B, soul, gospel, country, pop and rock.

Once a studio musician that played with rock icons including Eric Clapton, The Band and The Byrds, Russell’s versatility has never been lost on his fans.

Elton John is one of the top-selling solo artists of all time, with 35 gold and 25 platinum albums, 29 consecutive Top 40 hits, and he has sold more than 250 million records worldwide. John holds the record for the biggest selling single of all time, “Candle in the Wind ‘97,” which sold 37 million copies.

He famously performed song at Princess Diana’s memorial service. An album featuring that performance was released, titled ‘Diana, Princess of Wales, 1961-1997: The BBC Recording of the Funeral Service.’ Since his career began in 1969 he has played almost 3,000 concerts worldwide.

His songs have been included in numerous feature film soundtracks, including ‘Almost Famous’ and ‘The Lion King.’

Russell has performed his gospel-infused southern boogie piano rock, blues and country music for over 50 years. Russell’s career highlights includes releasing hit singles that include “Tight Rope,” “Queen Roller Derby” and “Lady Blue,” and serving as the musical director for the famed Joe Cocker’s ‘Mad Dogs & Englishmen’ tour, resulting in a brilliant 1970 double album. He also performed with George Harrison and Friends at the Concert for Bangladesh, and in 2006, Russell was awarded a lifetime achievement award by the Bare Bones International Film Festival.

Russel, who has spent time in the studio with a long list of artists,l also recorded the single “Wabash Cannonball” with Willie Nelson. A gifted songwriter, Russell penned “Masquerade,” which resulted in a 1977 Grammy Award for jazz guitarist George Benson, who covered the song.
