Lady Gaga shows in two cities moved to larger venues
The performer’s Jan. 12 and 13 Detroit dates, originally scheduled for the city’s 5,000-seat Fox Theatre, will be moved to the 20,000-seat Joe Louis Arena, home of the NHL’s Detroit Red Wings, according to the Detroit News, while the Jan. 8-10 Chicago dates, initially planned for the Chicago Theatre, will be moving to the Rosemont Theatre. According to promoter Live Nation, ticket holders for any of the affected shows will need to return to the point of purchase and receive a refund, then purchase new tickets to secure seats in the new venues.
More information on the Chicago show can be found at Live Nation’s website, while general information on the changes can be sought through Ticketmaster’s help page.
Live Nation cited the “size of the production” as the reason behind the move, but the company did not elaborate further.
The singer had previously moved her Jan. 3 show–originally scheduled for Hard Rock Live in Orlando, FL, to the University of Central Florida Arena, with three times the capacity. Details are included below.
The flamboyant songstress released “The Fame,” her major-label debut, last summer. The album peaked at No. 4 on The Billboard 200 and spawned the hit singles “Just Dance,” “Poker Face,” “Paparazzi” and “LoveGame.”
An expanded version of the album, re-christened “The Fame Monster” and revamped to include eight new songs, surfaced late last month.
