Paul McCartney (TICKETS) is bringing his “Up and Coming” tour to Time Warner Cable Arena on July 28,

McCartney’s concerts are almost three hours long and the diverse set list includes more than 30 songs from The Beatles, Wings and his solo career.
McCartney, 67, and his four-piece band play songs from his 2008 album “Electric Arguments” and songs he never played in the U.S., such as the Beatles’ “Ob La Di Ob La Da.” The concerts start with “Venus And Mars/Rock Show” and end with “The End.”
“I think it’s wonderful he’s coming to town,” says Ann Wicker, a longtime Beatles fan who has seen him in Atlanta, Raleigh and Charlotte. “I don’t have to travel to see him.” This is the first time the former Beatle has played Charlotte in 17 years.
While The Beatles last performed 40 years ago, their music and McCartney have endured. A CD of 27 No. 1 Beatles songs released in 2000 reached No. 1 in 35 countries.
McCartney is getting good reviews, and the audiences have included teenagers and young adults as well as baby boomers who grew up with the Beatles.

Remember the Police tour a couple years ago? When you had to be a Best Buy Rewardzone member to get a unique code for presales? Well, you may want to make sure your account is current and maybe open a few more for your family members as it looks like Best Buy (click here) and Sir Paul will have an association for Mr McCartneys’ 2o1o tour. I’m not saying there definitely will be “best buy presales”, but I would prepare for it.

According to reports, the tour will last about a year and include such places as Berlin’s Checkpoint Charlie and Tiananmen Square in China. Though Paul McCartney has slammed reports saying this is a farewell tour, the former Beatle will be 70 at the tours’ conclusion.
With this being a “world tour”, the North American dates will be limited. McCartney performed in 11 North American cities in 2009 including New York, Boston, Washington DC, and Los Angeles.
